The present association was formed in 2002 to encourage the preparation of a town development plan.This has now been produced and the group is now monitoring its implementation. Visit www.tipperarynorth.ie for plan details.

The immediate project is the promotion of Newport as an e-town in conjunction with Shannon Development.

Membership of the Development Association is open to all persons who have an interest in the development of Newport. Meetings are held monthly.
